Technical Assistance Services
What is Technical Assistance?
Technical Assistance is a way to assist parent centers to improve their ability to solve problems by providing information and linking centers with resources.
Region 2 Technical Assistance Services
The Technical Assistance Services provided by the Region 2 PTAC are designed to meet the individual and group needs of the Parent Training and Information center (PTIs) and Community Parent Resource Centers (CPRCs) in the region. The activities are based on the identified needs of each parent center and designed to increase staff knowledge of content, build center capacity to increase parent knowledge and skills, increase management knowledge and to strengthen partnerships. These outcomes are accomplished by providing the following services:

- Weekly emails containing information and resources
- Monthly topical teleconferences or webinars
- Site visits and other on-site activities
- Staff training and development
- Board training and development
- Collaborative Activities with Mid-South Regional Resource Center emphasizing collaboration with Lead Agencies, State Education Agencies, and members of the TA & D Network
- Peer to Peer Visits
- Activities approved for credits towards a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University, Office of Continuing Education
- Development and implementation of an Individualized Management Assistance Plan (IMAP)
- Annual regional conference with topics based on your input
- Individualized and group support with OSEP related activities such as Verification Visits
