Kids Flashlight Games For Fun After Dark

February 19, 2018 by Mandy Wright

Flashlights with different colors are always fun to play with. Ever wondered how you can actually entertain your kids with those bright colorful shades of light. Here are few fun ways of adding shades to those classic children outdoor games:

THE CLASSIC FIREFLY GAME

This requires you to have at least 4 to 5 people out of which 2 to 3 will be the fireflies, while others need to catch them. All you gotta do is to turn off all the lights and make it dark, and it’s after this that the fireflies will flash their torches every 30 seconds to give others a hint of their hidings.

FLASH THE HIDER

In this game, the person who’s looking for all the hiders has to use the flashlight while looking for others in the dark. This is one of the oldest and most-loved games of all time.

ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY

If you own a camera with a good shutter speed, then this game is for you. Basically, one needs to use a flashlight to create different objects on the wall (examples: smileys, huts, flower, etc) and the other person needs to click the picture and guess the object.

RUN AND CATCH THE LIGHT

This is a simple game to keep young children physically mobile. Here, all you need to do is move the flashlights in different directions and ask your kid to catch the light.

ADDING FUN TO EDUCATION

Play the most common ‘Letter Spotlight’ game with your little kid. All you need for this one is small letters made up of foam which can be found in supermarkets and can even be a DIY. Fix them on the top of the flashlight and start asking your kids to guess the letter in a fun way. If you’re parenting toddlers, then this might just be the right educational tool as well.

THE HUNTING SPREE

This flashlight game is preferably for older kids but then you can always make the rules easier for little ones to play. Start by hiding few items at home and then make 2 teams with 1 flashlight each. All they need to do is to find all the items and the team which finds the maximum number of items at the earliest wins.

USE THOSE FLASHLIGHTS AS DJ LIGHTS

Dancing is the greatest way of releasing that extra energy from your body and of course, kids love it way too much. Switch on some good crazy party music and get few of the best flashlights and let your kids have a dancing session with colorful lights and groovy music.

CAMPING INSIDE THE ROOM

Take a big bedsheet and tie it around your room in a way that it becomes a tent. And now turn off the lights, get inside the tent-house with your kid, switch on the flashlight, and have a good story time session with your little kid.

And similarly, you can have your own little fun games for your kids to enjoy. Flashlight games are fun, inexpensive, and a classic old-school.
